Regina is the first Greek company to participate in an international food fair in 1971, particularly the Anuga exhibition in Cologne.

In 1958 the economist and chemical engineering assistant Christos Kourantidis took his first steps in the field of doing business in Thessaloniki in the food sector by establishing Regina for the marketing of royal jelly and then honey.

In its early stages, Regina invests in innovation and extroversion, and in the 1960s it launched an innovative product, the honey capsules enriched with royal jelly. The health and youth elixir enchants Greeks and foreigners and even kings, since all the 1970s it is the only Greek product to be included in the eating habits of the Royal House of England!

In this decade Christos Kourantidis from the first factory in Evosmos,Thessaloniki has opened new, international roads for Regina and for the Greek food industry.

My father Christos was crazy about exports. He had a peach estate and made some sales in Germany. So he wanted to start selling besides fruits and honey on the German market. She phoned the Greek Embassy to find out how they could help her participate in Anuga. The people from the embassy really helped organize the company and set up for the first time a Greek kiosk in Anuga where Regina was the only one involved, since at that time there was not even an idea for the Export Promotion Organization. Indeed, the debut of a Greek company in an international exhibition left a very good impression on the visitors. My father paved the way, followed by other well-known food businessmen. In England, he had found a partner for Regina products and one of the distribution points was Buckingham Palace. " The royal family has been eating Greek honey for breakfast for about a decade, says Christos Kourantides' son, Nikos, who has taken over Regina's bat that closes in 2018 for 60 years. Of course, as he says, in view of its 60th anniversary celebration Regina could not miss this year, as every year, by Anuga, which will take place in Cologne on October 7-11.

The extroversion and export weed was inherited by Nikos Kourantidis, who speaks foreign languages and “is constantly searching” new markets. He was one of the first to discover the Gulfood fair in Dubai and the first to go to the Iraq Agrofood exhibition in Erbil, Kurdistan in 2012, and participate every year in many exhibitions around the world.

Regina today from its new 3,000m surface operation in the Industrial Area of Thessaloniki, where she moved in 2006, has its products in Greece and abroad with 40-50% of sales being exports to Europe, America, Asia, Australia and the Balkan markets. In recent years, new products such as jams, spoon sweets, brittles, lokums and dried fruit have also been added to its portfolio with heavy artillery the royal jelly and honey.
